So I went to Ikea again, with the coffee shop decorating needs and all. But don’t get me wrong, this is one thing I will never complain about, I love wandering around and looking at everything on the shelves. And then I got to the frames and posters and postcards sections and I went frantically through all their offer, because I was looking for something in particular: postcards by Gabrielle Kai. And I found them.
I’ve been following Gabrielle Kai Photography (with A. Jarrett behind the shutter button) right from my beginning in the blogging world and I love the way she sees the details and her determination to work on film. When I found out about her collaboration with Ikea, I so wanted to have her postcards and imagine how happy I was when I saw them waiting for me on the Ikea shelf.
This is one lovely story on how blogging can touch our lives. So this is why I am joining in the Fill in the blanks Friday over at The little things we do. It’s all about blogging today.
I started my blog because… I wanted a way to connect with people that can inspire me and teach me things, despite the distance. And it worked and I am very thankful for it.
One thing I love seeing on other blogs… is glimpses of their workspaces and collections and favorite places in their homes. It makes everything so much more personal and I love getting to know the people behind the keyboards.
Something I love about blogging… is the way the whole world shrinks to understandable dimensions. The way people in Australia (where they have spring when we have winter) and from America (when there’s night during my day) share so many things in common with me, writing from the other end of the world.
A favorite blog post of mine is probably… the recent post about the opening of my second coffee shop, and then there were two. It’s one of my biggest achievements and I am proud to be able to share it with the lovely folks stopping by.
Something my friends in real life know about me that I’ve never before mentioned on my blog is… the story of how I lost a close friend, due to business misunderstandings. There’s a lesson there, that I didn’t want to believe was true – don’t mix business with pleasure.
My new favorite blogs to read are… Little brown pen, A subtle revelry, Ill seen, ill said. They are recent discovery via the click-to-click method and they made it to my daily read list pretty quickly, since they have such lovely photos, creative open minds and warm voices.
Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are… whining, complaining, being negative and discontent. I want to keep this place as a haven of inspirational, creative, positive things, where I can come and take a breath of fresh air. It worked so far.
Have a great weekend ahead and thanks for having me in your lovely blogging world!

Beautiful reasons to blog, Anka!
I too tend to keep positive on my blog and find it important to spread positive vibes. However, I did blog once about the shipping stress over X-mas and how it really got me down. Felt like a relieve and somehow it also felt human. It can’t always be roses and sunshine and sometimes it is good to tell the other side of the story too.
In a perfect world, there are imperfections to take notion off… and we’re only human, right?
You are absolutely right and it makes perfect sense to share what hurts, too. I was talking more of the extreme whining and feeling sorry for myself, nothing goes well kind of complaining.
So lovely for you to stop by!
Anka,
You have truly made my day! Thank you for your kind words, and your support. I still have yet to see them in the store! Thanks so much once again~
