Every city has its hidden treasures, or at least so they say. And sometimes it turns out to be true. From under the gloomy winter in Bucharest, today I discovered a jewel. When I walked into Atelier Anda Roman, the first word that popped into my mind was “serendipity”. It felt like a museum, a home and the perfect gift shop all in one.
Anda Roman is a Romanian designer and beauty creator. If every piece of furniture or home decor can be beautiful in itself, it takes a certain something to orchestrate a consistent story. Anda Roman managed to do just that in her furniture and home decor concept store, opened in a beautiful villa in central Bucharest.
I stepped lightly on the restored wooden floors, as my footsteps echoed in the rooms. The light was soft and the silence was profound. It felt like I was just invited for tea in a beautiful home. Everything seemed fragile, it almost felt like if I’d touch the things around, they would evaporate, like a dream. They didn’t and I even managed to take some home, as gifts.
It was a lovely visit and I hope to go back, since I forgot to buy a gift for myself, of all people. It was the perfect time and a great place to soak up the beauty of the little things in life and get rid of the spring asthenia, and I appreciate the kind conversation, attention and ginger bread I received.
I leave you with some pictures that can only modestly capture the peace and quiet of this lovely place.
