The BYW e-course is done, but I am still absent from this online home of mine, since things really have to settle down. I am still walking around with my notebook and pencil and making lists and trying to decide on one thing or another.
6 more weeks to go and another year has gone by, just like that. I hope I will have a busy end of the year, because the to do list is pretty large and important, with several deadlines well before my birthday at the beginning of the year. What is it that I have to do?
Paint my studio. I have the before pictures, hope to have the after ones soon enough. I have some messed up holes I have to cover and in the process I decided I no longer like the light beige and I want to paint the room in orange and lila, so here I go…
Decide on the future of my blog. I’m not sure if I should continue this one, or start a new one. A redesign is well in order, no matter what. If I start a new one, I also need a name, which I don’t have at the moment. But all in their right time…
Just finished the coffee shop menu for fall-winter (a little late, as I am well known for delaying such things…). It’s a calendar for 2012 and I will share it with you. And this one is off the list. Nice.
Oups, this is it. But it feels like quite a lot, with the translation projects coming at us this end of the year, the coffee shop busy every night and the blog, which is a big thing for me and I want to make it just right.
On the plus side, after 6 weeks from my C25K running program, I ran today for 25 minutes, no breaks. That was pretty cool. And I am going to Barcelona for 5 days with my sister, beginning of December.
Was I incoherent? Probably. Maybe even boring. But just wanted to check in and to say that I miss being around, but I still have things to figure out. But I’ll try to be quick about it.
I’ve been lazy and inactive and totally not interesting lately. At least on my blog, although there are other aspects of my life in which I could do a lot better, too. This is my way to apologize.
Happyhangaround is almost two years old and I enjoyed every bit of my journey and especially all the nice people I came to know. I thank you all for the support, comments and visits, my lovely online home is happy because of you.
But then I got confused and I wanted to do a lot of things, some of them even contradictory. And then the planning got in the way of doing and then I sort of felt that I don’t know how to pick up where I left of. And then I got an e-mail, from Holly Becker of Decor8, one of my favorite blogs. She was telling me that a new edition of Blogging your way is on the making and I’d better sign up. Like right now. Which I did.
I am embarking on this ride today. To see if I can sort out all my thoughts and plans, to see if there is a new road I should take or just go back and make it better. Meanwhile, the regular posting (which left a lot to be desired lately) will be interrupted and this will be the space I will share the planning, the homework, the questions and my attempts at some answers. Hope you will be there along the way, cheering, just like you did all along.
Thank you, have a great week ahead!
PS: Because today I skipped my most regular (is that even correctly put) feature, here is my Music Monday obsession for the week. Enjoy!
Autumn feels lonely and empty and deserted. Sometimes. Birds fly out to the warmer countries, streets are emptier and emptier and trees are left bare. But we can’t but agree that the autumn colors are maybe some of the most vivid and different and strong there are. And the light is much helpful in this respect.
Bogdan Stamatin is a nice guy I met at the coffee shop, photographer, guitar player and witty. He decided to pack everything he’s got and move to Canary Islands. We would have wanted him around more, but to compensate in a small way for not seeing him as often as we’d have liked, we follow his new project, Important. He is asking people a very normal, yet difficult question – What is important? Friends, acquaintances or strangers will answer this question all around the world, and I, for one, I am very curious about the answers.
Above is Mihai, another nice guy we met at the coffee shop. Click play to find out what he thinks to be important.
For me, it’s important to do what I like and to do things as best as I can. To be around people I care about and care about me. To feed my soul with music and stories. It’s important not to take things for granted and not to forget to be thankful.
During the last week of August, I went boating with some friends in the Sporades (three big islands in the Aegean Sea, Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos). We rented a boat from Volos and sailed a week between the islands, mooring at night in the ports. It was a great adventure and I can’t wait for next summer and my next boat trip.
Here are some glimpses of my favorite things about Greece:
Back in the kitchen, after much pleading for another round of the tomato soup. I would love to have more time, patience and creativity to spend in the kitchen, to experiment and have guests over for lovely dinners.
In the meantime, I’ll go check on my soup, while you can visit lovely Mitsy and the other Flickr Favorites friends.
