I like salt. I eat it on everything (even sweet stuff or unripe fruit). I could literally lick it of the walls. And I almost did, when we visited the Turda Salt Mine last weekend. The salt mine is nicely set up for receiving visitors, with several chambers displaying old tools, as well as a promenade and recreational area and a small lake with yellow boats included.
I especially enjoyed the cool air (16 degrees Celsius, at least 20 degrees less than out in the sun), the patterns the salt made and the echo room (although I was ashamed to scream something echo-y). I didn’t like all the salt I took with me on my hair and clothes, but I survived it.
Here are a couple of shots with my iPhone. Hope you’ll enjoy them and maybe put Turda Salt Mine on your to see list, if you ever come to this part of Romania.
One more thing before I go, here is a little feature about my jewelry line on iamthelab.com.
