LADING

So many books #2

books-2

These days, my nightstand is undecided. I go back and forth between a fantastic story (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, by Haruki Murakami), drawing books (The Natural Way to Draw, by Kimon Nicolaides¬†and Composition, by Arthur Wesley Dow) and Bridge in 3 Weeks, by Alan Truscott. I don’t have enough time to practice¬†bridge deals and drawing these days, but I am making progress with the reading part, which is a gain in itself.

I am reading Murakami in Romanian, but he shared a nice quote on his Facebook page the other day. About a cat. About so much more.

Holding this soft, small living creature in my lap this way, though, and seeing how it slept with complete trust in me, I felt a warm rush in my chest. I put my hand on the cat’s chest and felt his heart beating. The pulse was faint and fast, but his heart, like mine, was ticking off the time allotted to his small body with all the restless earnestness of my own.

What’s on your nightstand and/or reading list these days?
